The World Long Drive Competition in Mesquite Nevada held the Military version of the Long Drive Competition last night here in Mesquite NV. Art Sellinger owner of the Long Drivers Association and the 7-Up Bottling Company co-hosted the annual event which is in its third year. The MC for the event was two time author David Fehrity also seen on the Golf Channel. For those of you who not know David Fehrity, he is a very funny commentator that greatly appreciates what are troops do for our great country even though he is working on his US citizenship. Both Art Sellinger and David Fehrity have been to Iraq to entertain the troops and to introduce golf to military personnel. Also present was two time Major Champion also seen on the Golf Channel and Madison, Wisconsin native, Andy North. I mention this because we had Wisconsin like weather for the event. Windy and Cold!

Summer has turned into fall and it is time for the people in the colder climates to start thinking about heading south to avoid the cold and snow for the winter. We can see it here in Mesquite as the traffic here starts to pick up and there are more people asking for information on property for sale here in Mesquite Nevada. A lot of the interest is in foreclosed property as consumers continue to seek out the bargains on homes, town homes and condos.
The competition for low priced properties has been heating up and it is not unusual to have multiple offers on them. If this is the type of property you are trying to buy, it may be wise to make your offer as close to the asking price or even higher if it is the property you want. One area that you can get good buys on if you are patient is short sales. Just make sure you are prepared to wait without much communication from the seller. These types of sales can be rewarding, but very frustrating as well.

It is time agian for a review of the Mesquite MLS. We feel it is important for those that are considering purchasing, leasing and investing in homes in Mesquite NV to know what is going on in the local real estate market. This information is from the Mesquite MLS.
We currently have 183 active homes listed for sale in Mesquite NV. Of those listed for sale 118 are in an Home Owners Association (HOA). 20 homes are foreclosures and another 12 are short sales. Pending home sales on the Mesquite MLS, there are 42. They also there were 20 homes sold in the last 30 days.
Mesquite condos for sale are 130. Of those condos 86 of them are lower units and have no stairs. There are 13 Mesquite condos in foreclosure and another 8 short sales. Currently there are 10 pending sales. In the last 30 days 6 condos have sold.
