Buck and I just returned from a great trip to the 2013 National Association of Realtors Year End Convention in San Francisco.  The meetings were informative and educational. The convention was huge. estimated 15,000 Realtors attended the Year End event.

Below is a Photo of the current Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) of Southern Nevada Leadership. 2013 President LV “Buck” Schaeffel (left), 2013 President-Elect Robert Little (middle), 2013 Treasurer Brandon Park (right)

Below is a photo of Buck Schaeffel at the Plaza Hotel in San Francisco. We stayed at the Palace Hotel, which is where the CRS meetings were held. This was a very nice hotel with a rich history. [click to continue…]

Mesquite Realty Newsletter – Fall 2013

by Mesquite Realty on October 2, 2013

Newsletter

Oct.-Dec. 2013

We are happy to announce we started our own company… Mesquite Realty! We are very excited for this new venture and need your help as much as ever… if you know anyone that wants/needs a home in Mesquite or needs to sell a home in the Mesquite area, WE LOVE THESE REFERRALS!!!

We will also be doing property management for our friends and clients. If you or some one you know is looking for a rental or have a home to rent, talk to us, we can help!

Over the last 10 years real estate in our area has seen ups and downs. Currently the real estate market is in a recovery phase. The home prices in Mesquite have been down for the last 4 years and since last year at this time home prices are up about 14%. This is a strong rebound and we appear to be in line with the national trend of upward moving home prices.

What’s New in Mesquite

· Mesquite Realty. Currently located at 12 W Mesquite Blvd #113 (same as Bowler Realty). We may be moving soon to our new location… to be announced soon!

· Dollar General. Found on Mesquite Blvd near Bulldog Plaza.

· Taco Bell. Located on Sandhill Blvd just off I-15.

· Oasis Casino Demolished. The casino and hotels are no more. There are a couple hotel buildings that are used as time-shares that are still standing on the east side of the property.

How to winterize your home in Mesquite NV

by Mesquite Realty on December 20, 2010

To Winterize or Not to Winterize???

Winterizing your home in Mesquite NV is a good idea if you are going to be gone for even a few months. Winterizing your home helps you to save on utility bills during the period you will not be in the home while at the same time minimizing the risk of your home being damaged. I asked my friend Chuck Perry of Perry Home Inspections, who is a licensed Home Inspector in our area, to share with us a few ideas to help you winterize your home in Mesquite NV.

The first question to ask is… How long are you going to be gone? It is not a good idea to leave a home totally vacant for long periods. Chuck recommended to have a friend, family or home watch company go into your home once a month to run water through the drains, flush toilets, and check any other items you may want them to check while in the home.

Chuck also suggested that during the winter months in Mesquite NV there are times that the temperature gets below freezing and that homes with outdoor irrigation systems should have some type of insulated cover placed over their anti-siphon valve. It is also a good idea to change your sprinkler system timer to the appropriate winter settings. [click to continue…]

by Mesquite Realty on November 18, 2010

November 2010 Newsletter

Greetings from Mesquite, Nevada, we hope that every one is in good health and doing well. As many of you know Mesquite recently concluded the 2010 World Long Drive Championships and Military Long Drive Championships that are held annually in Mesquite. As always we had a great time and love hosting and attending this competition.

With winter fast approaching it is probably time to start thinking about plans to be in a warmer climate versus the cold and snow that will inevitably come. The good news is that it is still a buyers market and there is plenty of inventory to choose from. [click to continue…]
