What is everybody talking about? Well for many it has to do with the climate. The end of July is approaching and the Mesquite NV weather is HOT! The Las Vegas weather guru said that Mesquite was going to be 116°F for the daily high temperature and 89°F for the low (for our Canadian followers that is 31°C to 46°C).

Summer in Mesquite
Keep in mind that the humidity is generally under 15%. That makes it a very dry heat. We generally will have 7 to 10 days a year with “Heat Advisories.” During these times it is best to stay indoors during the peak hours when it will be the hottest (usually from 1pm to 6pm) and drink lots of water. Our Mesquite NV weather is for many among the top reason they live here or have a seasonal home here.
What do people do to keep cool during summer? Many like to swim, so if you have a pool, know someone with a pool, or your home is in an association that has a pool you are in luck. For others you can go to the Mesquite Recreation Center and they have a large indoor and outdoor pool. You may decide to head over to Lake Mead (80 miles) and get wet there.
Many still enjoy there normal round of golf, morning strolls, or ATV rides. They just do it early in the morning from 5:00am to 9:00am. That is generally is when you will see people out. Many business struggle with the Mesquite NV weather because many people leave town or take vacations all summer. However it appears that they also benefit sufficently from the other 9 months when people are here.

Winter in Mesquite NV
First, we have NO SNOW! It sometimes get close as you can see in the photo above, but it usually melts fairly quickly. We do get below freezing at times during the nights and it is enough to break water lines and kill some plants. The solution would be to bury your water lines at least 3″ to 4″ below the ground and if you have sensitive plants you may need to cover them at night.
Even in the dog days of winter, the Mesquite NV weather still normally reaches daytime highs in the 50’s and 60’s. For most that is warm enough. If you love snow and want to snow ski you can visit Brian Head ski resort near Cedar City, Utah or go to Mt. Charleston, north of Las Vegas.
