Mesquite Newsletter August 2009
While pricing on homes has dropped over the last year, I do believe we are not far from them leveling off or maybe even increasing slightly. Many financial experts seem to think that our market will start to turn in the fourth quarter of this year. With the increase in new housing starts of 11%, the stock market rising to over 9,000 for the first time since January of this year and the third straight month of increased home sales year over year, we may have already turned the corner. The number of homes that are on short sale lists will continue until we have a few years with home prices rising. A short sale is when the seller owes more on the house than it sells for. Banks seem to be trying to approve these types of sales versus foreclosing on them. These types of sales take longer than a foreclosed home to purchase, but if you are patient, you can obtain property at below market value. If you are still considering buying a home or condo… let me know what you are looking for. You need to be pre-approved or have cash ready to go as the best buys still go fast.
If you need to sell your home in this market, the good news is that banks seem more likely to assist homeowners on short sales today than they were a year ago. If you need some information on selling a home as a short sale, the Mesquite Group has a Certified Foreclosure Specialist (CFS) and Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) on staff that will gladly help you with information and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to call or e-mail(use Contact Us on top of page) us with your questions.
We strive to give you the best feed for viewing the Mesquite MLS and publish quality information and photos of Mesquite NV for you and your family to use and share with others. Thank you for supporting us!!!
