According to a National House Pulse Survey despite the challenges in the economy 83% of Americans believe that it is a good decision to to buy a home and that home ownership is sound investment. 75% of those surveyed also believe now to be a good time to buy a home.
Among renters nationwide 33% are thinking more about buying a home than just one year ago. The survey also showed a growing number of Americans feel the real estate market has stabilized, while only 18% still feel that the real estate market is going to further decline. [click to continue…]

How much Mesquite NV water is there? And should it affect your decision to purchase a home in Southern Nevada… or even in Southern Utah?
This question was asked to Mike Winters manager of the Mesquite Water District at luncheon hosted by the Mesquite Real Estate Association. Mr. Winters went on to explain that Mesquite NV water has always been a very important topic as we live in a desert. The water for our area come from a number of municipal wells that it uses to pump Mesquite NV water from an underground aquifer. He said that currently the Mesquite Water District is allowed to use up to 12,000 acre/ft of water. The City of Mesquite has a population of about 20,000 people and is currently using about 6,400 acre/ft annually. [click to continue…]

While pricing on homes has dropped over the last year, I do believe we are not far from them leveling off or maybe even increasing slightly. Many financial experts seem to think that our market will start to turn in the fourth quarter of this year. With the increase in new housing starts of 11%, the stock market rising to over 9,000 for the first time since January of this year and the third straight month of increased home sales year over year, we may have already turned the corner.
